Yuki Bhambri beats the top seeds to win the Almaty Open, his first title of 2026

Bhambri and American Ryan Seggerman beat Austria’s Lucas Miedler and Neil Oberleitner 7-6(3), 6-7(1), 10-2 in Sunday’s final. It is his fifth ATP Tour doubles title.

Yuki Bhambri has his first ATP title of 2026. On Sunday he and American Ryan Seggerman won the Almaty Open doubles, an ATP 250 event in Kazakhstan. They beat Austria’s Lucas Miedler and Neil Oberleitner 7-6(3), 6-7(1), 10-2. The Austrians were the top seeds. Bhambri and Seggerman were seeded fourth.

The final turned on two tie-breaks and a match tie-break. Bhambri and Seggerman took the first set tie-break. They lost the second. Then they ran away with the decider 10-2. It is Bhambri’s fifth career ATP Tour doubles title. It was his second ATP final this season, after the Geneva Open with Michael Venus of New Zealand, where he finished runner-up.

This is a Vijay built on persistence. Bhambri is 34. His season ran through new partners and early exits, including a first-round loss at the US Open. Geneva was an Anubhav. Almaty is the return on it. He changed partners, kept playing the tour and closed out the best pair in the draw.

What a founder takes from it: Bhambri changed partners through the year and kept showing up. Founders should note the method: stay in the tight sets, then take the decider with clarity.
